Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care, assisting with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and eating.
  • Monitor and accurately record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates.
  • Assist with patient mobility and safely transfer individuals to and from beds, wheelchairs, and stretchers using proper body mechanics.
  • Administer medication and treatments as directed by the Registered Nurse or Charge Nurse.
  • Communicate changes in patient condition or concerns to the nursing staff immediately.
  • Maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe environment for patients and visitors.
  • Document patient care activities in electronic medical records (EMR) accurately and timely.

Qualifications

  • Certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) required by the State of Minnesota.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR certification.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Strong compassion, patience, and excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Experience in a hospital or long-term care setting is preferred but not required.
  • Must pass a background check and drug screen.
