Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, assisting with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and eating.
- Monitor and accurately record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates.
- Assist with patient mobility and safely transfer individuals to and from beds, wheelchairs, and stretchers using proper body mechanics.
- Administer medication and treatments as directed by the Registered Nurse or Charge Nurse.
- Communicate changes in patient condition or concerns to the nursing staff immediately.
- Maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe environment for patients and visitors.
- Document patient care activities in electronic medical records (EMR) accurately and timely.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) required by the State of Minnesota.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR certification.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Strong compassion, patience, and excellent verbal communication skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Experience in a hospital or long-term care setting is preferred but not required.
- Must pass a background check and drug screen.
