Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including bathing, dressing, and feeding assistance to patients of all ages.
- Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse, reporting any abnormalities immediately to the nursing staff.
- Assist patients with mobility issues, including transferring them to and from beds, wheelchairs, and stretcher beds.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment, adhering to strict hygiene and infection control protocols.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure holistic care.
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by licensed nurses, strictly following safety guidelines.
Qualifications
- Current and active New York State Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license.
- CPR/BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
- Previous experience in a hospital or long-term care setting preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient empathy.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull patients weighing up to 250 lbs.
- High school diploma or GED required.
