Responsibilities
- Assist with Activities of Daily Living: Provide compassionate support with bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility for patients of all ages.
- Vital Signs Monitoring: Accurately measure and record patient temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rates.
- Patient Hygiene & Comfort: Ensure a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for patients, including changing linens and assisting with toileting.
- Communication: Effectively communicate patient status, concerns, and changes in condition to the nursing staff and physicians.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and logs in accordance with hospital protocols.
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly to patient emergencies and assist in maintaining a safe facility environment.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current and active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in the state of New York.
- CPR Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a hospital or long-term care setting preferred.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on patient empathy.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, lift patients, and perform physical tasks as needed.
- Computer Literacy: Basic proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
