Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
- Monitor and record patient vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rates.
- Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Transport patients to and from treatment areas, surgeries, or radiology using wheelchairs or stretchers.
- Observe and report any changes in patient conditions or behavior to the nursing staff immediately.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment.
- Document patient care activities accurately and in a timely manner.
Qualifications
- Current and valid New York State Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
- High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) required.
- Previous experience in a hospital or healthcare setting preferred.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift patients as needed.
- Compassionate attitude and a commitment to patient-centered care.
