Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, assisting with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Monitor and record vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rates.
- Assist with patient mobility, transferring, and ambulation using proper body mechanics and assistive devices.
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by licensed nursing staff, ensuring accuracy and adherence to protocols.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team to ensure holistic care and address concerns promptly.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment, adhering to all infection control and safety standards.
- Document patient observations and care provided in electronic health records (EHR) accurately and in a timely manner.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) required, issued by the state of Indiana.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience in a hospital or long-term care setting preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to demonstrate empathy and patience.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift and move patients as necessary.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
