Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting assistance.
- Monitor vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, respiration) and report any abnormalities to the nursing staff.
- Assist with patient mobility, transfers, and ambulation to ensure safety and prevent falls.
- Document patient care activities, intake, and output accurately in electronic health records.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment.
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by licensed nurses.
Qualifications
- Current, unencumbered State of Florida CNA license.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience in a long-term care or hospital setting is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or willingness to obtain).
