Responsibilities
- Deliver Direct Patient Care: Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, with dignity and respect.
- Vital Signs Monitoring: Accurately measure and record vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature, respiration rate) and report any abnormalities to the charge nurse immediately.
- Communication: Act as a liaison between patients, families, and the healthcare team, ensuring clear and effective communication at all times.
- Environment Maintenance: Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitized patient environment in accordance with infection control protocols and facility standards.
- Assistance with Mobility: Safely assist patients with ambulation and transfers using proper body mechanics and assistive devices.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential patient records using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
Qualifications
- Current Licensure: Valid and active Illinois CNA license (CNA-1 or CNA-2) required.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or Red Cross is mandatory.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a hospital or long-term care setting preferred, but new graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, empathy, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift, push, and pull patients up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods.
