Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality direct patient care, assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility.
- Monitor and record vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration) accurately and in a timely manner.
- Assist licensed nursing staff with medical procedures, including wound care, catheter care, and specimen collection.
- Communicate any changes in a patient's condition, mood, or behavior to the charge nurse or physician immediately.
- Ensure patient safety by maintaining a clean, organized, and sanitized environment.
- Document patient care activities, intake/output, and observations accurately in the electronic health record (EHR).
- Build trusting relationships with patients and their families to ensure a comfortable care experience.
Qualifications
- Current, valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license issued by the State of California.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients and staff.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift, move, and transfer patients safely (up to 50 lbs) using proper body mechanics.
- Previous experience in a hospital, skilled nursing facility, or home health setting is highly preferred.
- Must pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening prior to employment.
