Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and accurately verify demographic and insurance information in the EHR system.
- Prepare examination rooms for patient visits, ensuring all medical instruments are sterilized and ready.
- Assist physicians and advanced practice providers during exams, procedures, and minor surgeries.
- Record and monitor patient vital signs, medical histories, and symptoms with high accuracy.
- Administer medications, injections, and vaccinations under strict provider supervision.
- Coordinate patient follow-up appointments, referrals, and prescription refills.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant clinical environment at all times.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) required; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with patients and staff.
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume hospital setting.
- High school diploma or GED required.
