Responsibilities
- Perform routine medical examinations and accurately record patient vital signs, medical histories, and symptoms.
- Prepare patients for examinations by assisting with draping and positioning, and by interviewing patients to gather necessary health information.
- Assist physicians and advanced practice providers during examinations and procedures as directed.
- Manage Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems to document patient encounters, update charts, and ensure data accuracy and confidentiality.
- Administer medications and vaccinations as authorized and per physician orders.
- Coordinate patient appointments, handle incoming calls, and manage front desk administrative duties to ensure smooth clinic operations.
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients and families, addressing inquiries and resolving issues professionally.
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Previous experience as a Medical Assistant in a clinical or remote setting preferred.
- Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) software (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth, Cerner).
- Strong computer literacy and ability to navigate web-based platforms independently.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a focus on patient privacy (HIPAA compliance).
- Ability to work autonomously in a remote environment while maintaining high productivity standards.
