Responsibilities
- Provide Direct Patient Care: Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Vital Signs Monitoring: Accurately measure and record patient vital signs, such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates.
- Assistance with Mobility: Help patients move safely from beds to chairs or wheelchairs, utilizing proper body mechanics and transfer equipment.
- Emotional Support: Offer companionship and emotional support to patients and their families during their hospital stay.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and care plans in accordance with hospital policies.
- Medication Assistance: Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, assist with the administration of medications as prescribed.
- Environmental Safety: Ensure the patient's room is clean, safe, and comfortable at all times.
Qualifications
- CNA Certification: Current and valid State Certified Nursing Assistant license.
- Experience: Previous experience in a hospital or long-term care setting is preferred, but new graduates are encouraged to apply.
- CPR Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients, families, and medical staff.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, lift patients, and perform physical tasks as needed.
- Attention to Detail: Strong observational skills and the ability to follow strict medical protocols and safety guidelines.
