Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, assisting with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Monitor and record vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, respiration, temperature) and report any abnormalities to the nursing staff.
- Assist patients with mobility and transfers using proper body mechanics and equipment.
- Prepare and serve meals according to dietary restrictions and patient needs.
- Document patient care activities, intake and output, and changes in patient condition accurately and timely.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment for patients and staff.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
Qualifications
- Current, valid Illinois CNA Certification required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Previous experience in a hospital or long-term care setting preferred but not required for immediate hires.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Compassionate demeanor with a strong commitment to patient-centered care.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
