Responsibilities
- Monitor patient vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, respiration) and report significant changes to the RN or Physician.
- Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients and their families during their stay.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care activities and observations in the electronic health record (EHR).
- Ensure the patient environment is clean, safe, and orderly at all times.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments as directed by licensed nursing staff.
Qualifications
- Current and valid Florida CNA License (or Compact State License).
- CPR/BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification required.
- Previous experience in a hospital or acute care setting is preferred but not always required.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and assist with patient transfers.
- Compassionate demeanor with a focus on patient safety and dignity.
