Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, assisting with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming in a respectful and dignified manner.
- Monitor and accurately record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates.
- Assist patients with mobility and transfers, ensuring safety and proper body mechanics at all times.
- Communicate any changes in a patient's physical or emotional condition to the Registered Nurse or Charge Nurse immediately.
- Prepare and serve meals according to specific dietary restrictions and patient needs.
- Maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
- Document patient care activities, intake/output, and behavioral observations in the electronic health record system.
Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license valid in the State of Texas required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Previous experience in a hospital or long-term care setting is preferred but not mandatory for immediate hires.
- Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 25 lbs for extended periods.
- Compassionate, patient-centered attitude with a strong work ethic.
