Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates.
- Assist patients with mobility and transfers using proper body mechanics and assistive devices.
- Communicate changes in patient condition or behavior to the registered nurse immediately.
- Maintain a clean, sanitized, and safe environment for patients and visitors.
- Document daily care activities and patient interactions accurately in electronic medical records.
- Administer medication as directed by licensed nursing staff.
Qualifications
- Current and active Louisiana CNA License (Licensure must be in good standing).
- CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift patients safely (up to 50 lbs).
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Previous experience in a hospital, nursing home, or home health setting is preferred but not required.
