Responsibilities
- Assist physicians and medical staff with patient examinations and procedures.
- Prepare patients for exams by taking vital signs, medical histories, and updating medical records.
- Perform basic laboratory tests and prepare specimens for analysis.
- Administer medications and injections as directed by physicians.
- Maintain a clean and organized examination room, ensuring proper sterilization of equipment.
- Communicate effectively with patients to explain procedures and address concerns.
- Handle administrative duties such as scheduling appointments and processing insurance forms.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED is required; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program is preferred.
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) is a plus but not mandatory for entry-level candidates.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a patient-first attitude.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Proficiency with basic computer applications and Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
- Must be detail-oriented and able to maintain strict confidentiality.
