Responsibilities
- Provide Direct Patient Care: Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting in a respectful and dignified manner.
- Vital Signs Monitoring: Accurately measure and record patient vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates.
- Assist with Mobility: Safely transfer patients using proper body mechanics and assist with ambulation to prevent falls and injuries.
- Hygiene & Infection Control: Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitized environment for patients; adhere strictly to infection control protocols and hygiene standards.
- Communication: Communicate changes in patient condition to the nursing staff and physicians promptly and clearly.
- Documentation: Complete accurate and timely documentation in electronic health records (EHR) as required.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required.
- Certification: Current Louisiana State CNA certification and active enrollment or completion of a CNA program.
- Licensure: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Experience: Preferably 1+ years of experience in a hospital or long-term care setting.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work well under pressure and in a team environment.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift, push, and pull patients weighing up to 250 lbs; ability to stand for extended periods.
