Responsibilities
- Monitor and record patient vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, respiration rate, and temperature, reporting any abnormalities to the charge nurse.
- Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients and their families, ensuring a comfortable and dignified experience.
- Document patient care plans, symptoms, progress, and changes in conditions accurately and timely.
- Prepare patients for examinations, treatments, and surgeries, ensuring they are comfortable and safe.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment, adhering to all sanitation and infection control protocols.
- Communicate effectively with the nursing team, physicians, and family members regarding patient needs and updates.
Qualifications
- Current, valid, and unencumbered California CNA License.
- CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required (American Heart Association preferred).
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to empathize with patients.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs as necessary to assist patients.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation may be required for facility transport.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays, is a plus.
