Responsibilities
- Monitor and record patient vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse, and report any abnormalities to the nursing staff immediately.
- Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, while respecting patient privacy and dignity.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients and their families to improve overall patient satisfaction.
- Prepare and serve meals according to prescribed dietary restrictions and nutritional requirements.
- Assist licensed nurses with medical procedures, specimen collection, and medication distribution under supervision.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary patient environment to prevent infections and ensure safety.
- Document patient care activities accurately and timely in electronic health records (EHR).
Qualifications
- Current New York State CNA Certification (CNA 1) or LNA license is required.
- High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) is mandatory.
- CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be up to date.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients and medical personnel.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs when necessary.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
