Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including bathing, dressing, and grooming assistance to ensure patient comfort and hygiene.
- Monitor vital signs (temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration) and report any abnormalities to the Registered Nurse (RN) or Charge Nurse immediately.
- Assist patients with mobility, transfers, and ambulation using proper body mechanics and assistive devices to prevent falls.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments according to hospital protocols and physician orders.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment, including bed making and room sanitation.
- Document patient care activities and observations accurately in electronic medical records (EMR) in a timely manner.
- Act as a liaison between patients, families, and the healthcare team to ensure effective communication and care coordination.
Qualifications
- Current and active Oregon State CNA Certification required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification through the American Heart Association or Red Cross.
- High school diploma or GED required; completion of a state-approved nursing assistant program is preferred.
- Previous experience in a hospital or long-term care setting is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients, families, and medical staff.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs frequently.
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
