Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, assisting with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Monitor and record vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature, respiration rate) accurately and report any abnormalities to the Charge Nurse.
- Assist patients with mobility issues, including transferring them safely from beds to chairs and using walkers or wheelchairs.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment in accordance with strict infection control and safety protocols.
- Document patient care activities and changes in condition in electronic medical records (EMR) in a timely and thorough manner.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary care team to ensure holistic care.
Qualifications
- Current, valid Michigan CNA License required.
- CPR/BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) must be active and up-to-date.
- Previous experience in a long-term care facility, hospital, or home health setting is preferred but not required for high-potential candidates.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact compassionately with patients of all ages.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift patients, and perform manual tasks as needed.
- Ability to work rotating night shifts, weekends, and holidays as part of the healthcare schedule.
