Responsibilities
- Monitor Patient Health: Observe and report any changes in patient condition, behavior, or response to treatment to the nursing staff.
- Assist with Daily Living: Provide personal care assistance including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting to ensure patient dignity and comfort.
- Medication Management: Administer medication as prescribed by physicians, following strict safety protocols and documentation standards.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and patient logs, including vital signs and daily activities.
- Patient Mobility: Assist patients with ambulation and transfer techniques to prevent falls and injuries.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure holistic care.
- Sanitation: Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for patients and staff.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in Illinois (or ability to obtain).
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
- Certification: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a clinical or long-term care setting preferred.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, and lift patients or equipment for extended periods.
- Soft Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, patience, empathy, and the ability to work independently during night shifts.
- Availability: Willingness to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
