Responsibilities
- Provide direct, high-quality patient care, including assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, grooming, and toileting.
- Monitor and accurately record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature.
- Assist the nursing staff with patient transfers, ambulation, and positioning to prevent falls and injuries.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitized patient environment, adhering to infection control protocols.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the wider healthcare team regarding patient status and concerns.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN).
- Respond immediately to patient call lights and emergency situations within established timeframes.
Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license required and in good standing.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR certification.
- Previous experience in a hospital, long-term care, or acute care setting is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively during night shifts.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift and move patients weighing up to 250 lbs.
- Compassionate demeanor with a focus on patient-centered care.
