Responsibilities
- Monitor patient health status, including vital signs, temperature, and blood pressure, reporting any changes immediately to the nursing staff.
- Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting with dignity and respect.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and therapeutic environment for patients, ensuring all safety protocols and infection control measures are strictly followed.
- Document patient care activities, intake, and output accurately in electronic health records (EHR) as per facility policy.
- Communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary team, patients, and families to provide updates on patient conditions and needs.
- Respond promptly to call lights and patient needs, providing comfort and reassurance throughout the night shift.
Qualifications
- Current, unencumbered CNA license issued by the state of Missouri or Illinois.
- Previous experience in a long-term care, hospital, or home health setting is preferred but not always required for the right candidate.
- Ability to work flexible night shift schedules, including weekends and holidays.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a compassionate demeanor.
- CPR/BLS certification (Basic Life Support) is required.
- Physical ability to lift, transfer, and assist patients as needed.
