Responsibilities
- Patient Assessment: Accurately measure and record patient vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, weight) and obtain medical histories.
- Clinical Support: Prepare examination rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist providers during patient consultations and procedures.
- Procedures: Perform basic clinical duties including venipuncture (blood draws), EKGs, and administering injections under supervision.
- Administrative Coordination: Manage patient check-in/check-out processes, update Electronic Health Records (EHR), and handle insurance verification.
- Infection Control: Adhere strictly to OSHA and facility infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
- Communication: Effectively communicate test results and patient concerns to the nursing and medical staff.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, NCMA) is a plus but not mandatory.
- Experience: No prior experience required. We provide on-the-job training for certified candidates.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong customer service orientation with the ability to demonstrate empathy and patience.
- Technical Proficiency: Basic computer literacy and the ability to learn new medical software systems quickly.
- Physical Demands: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 25 lbs, and perform duties in a fast-paced clinic setting.
- Availability: Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as part of a rotating schedule.
