Responsibilities
- Provide Direct Patient Care: Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting with dignity and respect.
- Vital Signs Monitoring: Accurately measure and record patient vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates.
- Observation & Reporting: Monitor patients for changes in condition and promptly report any concerns or abnormalities to the registered nurse (RN) or charge nurse.
- Medication Assistance: Support the administration of medications as directed by licensed nursing staff, ensuring proper documentation.
- Environment Maintenance: Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly environment for patients and staff in accordance with hospital sanitation standards.
- Communication: Effectively communicate with patients, families, and the multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure continuity of care.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Current and valid California State CNA license (CNA I & II).
- Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Experience: Previous experience in a hospital or long-term care setting preferred, but new graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Skills: Strong patient care skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently during night shifts.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Physical Demands: Ability to stand, walk, lift, and move patients for extended periods; ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
