Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care and assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, and grooming, ensuring dignity and comfort at all times.
- Monitor and record vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, respiration, temperature) accurately and report any significant changes to the Registered Nurse immediately.
- Assist with patient mobility and transfers using proper body mechanics and transfer equipment to ensure safety for both the patient and staff.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and therapeutic environment by adhering to infection control protocols and performing daily environmental rounds.
- Document patient care activities and observations in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) in a timely and precise manner.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary care team to ensure holistic care delivery.
- Respond promptly to patient call lights and emergent needs, prioritizing patient safety and well-being.
Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license valid in the State of Tennessee required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and empathetically with patients and families.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently during the night shift with minimal supervision.
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift, push, and pull patients and equipment as necessary.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in a long-term care or hospital setting is highly desirable.
