Responsibilities
- Monitor and record patient vital signs, such as temperature, blood pressure, and pulse rate, and report any abnormalities to the nursing staff.
- Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients and their families.
- Administer medication and treatments as prescribed by the nurse, ensuring accurate documentation.
- Turn, reposition, and move patients to prevent bedsores and maintain circulation.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for patient care.
- Communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary healthcare team regarding patient conditions.
Qualifications
- Current and active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in the state of Tennessee.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Previous experience in a hospital, nursing home, or acute care setting is preferred.
- Strong compassion and a genuine desire to help patients.
- Ability to work independently and make sound judgments in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs as needed.
