Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care and assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Monitor vital signs and report any changes in patient condition to the nursing staff immediately.
- Assist with mobility and transfers, ensuring patient safety at all times.
- Document patient care activities and observations accurately in electronic health records.
- Prepare and serve meals according to dietary restrictions and patient needs.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary care team.
Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license required in the state of Louisiana.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association must be current.
- Previous experience in a hospital or long-term care setting is preferred but not required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift patients as needed.
