Responsibilities
- Monitor and record patient vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse) accurately and report any abnormalities to the nursing staff immediately.
- Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting with dignity and respect.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients and their families, ensuring they feel comfortable during the night shift.
- Prepare and serve meals according to specific dietary restrictions and patient preferences.
- Maintain a clean, sanitized, and safe patient environment in accordance with hospital hygiene protocols.
- Communicate effectively with the nursing team, physicians, and other healthcare professionals regarding patient status and needs.
- Document patient care activities and observations in electronic medical records (EMR) timely and accurately.
Qualifications
- Current and valid California State CNA License required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from the American Heart Association.
- Previous experience in a hospital, nursing home, or acute care setting is preferred but not always required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on patient-centered care.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a night shift team.
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift, move, and assist patients of varying weights.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts and holidays as needed.
