Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Monitor and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates.
- Maintain a safe and clean patient environment, adhering to strict infection control and safety protocols.
- Communicate changes in patient condition to the Charge Nurse or Registered Nurse immediately.
- Assist with mobilization and ambulation to prevent falls and pressure ulcers.
- Document all care provided accurately and timely in the electronic health record (EHR).
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients and their families.
Qualifications
- Current, unencumbered CNA License issued by the Texas Board of Nursing.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a hospital or long-term care setting preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient-centered care.
- Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs frequently throughout the shift.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work rotating night shifts, including weekends and holidays.
