Responsibilities
- Monitor and record patient vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, and temperature, reporting any abnormalities to the charge nurse.
- Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting with dignity and respect.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients and their families during the night shift.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by licensed nursing staff, ensuring accurate documentation.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment in accordance with hospital safety protocols.
- Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other members of the healthcare team regarding patient changes in condition.
Qualifications
- Current and valid State of California Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license.
- CPR/BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
- Previous experience in a hospital or acute care setting preferred, specifically on night shifts.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a diverse team environment.
- Physical stamina to perform heavy lifting, standing, and walking for extended periods.
