Job Summary:
As a CNA at Austin Vitality Healthcare, you will play a vital role in the daily care and well-being of our patients. You will work closely with registered nurses and healthcare professionals to ensure a safe, comfortable, and dignified environment for those in our care.
Responsibilities
- Personal Care: Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Vital Signs: Accurately monitor and record patient vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration rate, and temperature.
- Hygiene: Ensure patients remain clean, dry, and comfortable at all times, including changing linens and bedpans.
- Assistance: Help patients move, transfer, or walk using proper body mechanics and mobility aids.
- Communication: Communicate patient changes, concerns, or needs to the nursing staff and physicians promptly.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient care records and logs.
- Safety: Follow all safety protocols and infection control procedures to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED is required.
- Experience: No prior experience required. Previous caregiving or medical assistant experience is a plus but not mandatory.
- Certification: Active CNA certification or eligibility to obtain one (if not currently certified).
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift, push, and pull patients weighing up to 250 lbs. Must be able to stand for long periods and walk frequently.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Basic computer literacy is preferred.
- Personality: Empathetic, patient, and detail-oriented with a genuine desire to help others.
- Background: Clean criminal background check and drug screen required.
