Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse, accurately and in a timely manner.
- Provide basic patient care, such as repositioning patients to prevent bedsores and assisting with mobility.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for patients, including changing linens and cleaning equipment.
- Communicate patient status changes and feedback to the nursing staff and physicians effectively.
- Serve meals and assist patients with feeding as necessary, ensuring dietary restrictions are respected.
- Escort patients to and from examinations, treatments, or other hospital areas.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Current CNA certification or state license (or eligibility to obtain one) is highly preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is a plus but not mandatory for entry-level applicants.
- Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills are essential.
- Ability to stand, walk, and lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs for extended periods.
- Compassionate demeanor with a patient-centered approach to care.
- Must be detail-oriented and able to follow instructions precisely.
