Responsibilities
- Provide Direct Patient Care: Assist patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting in a respectful and dignified manner.
- Vital Signs Monitoring: Accurately measure and record patient vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rates.
- Assist with Mobility: Help patients move safely from beds to chairs or wheelchairs, utilizing proper body mechanics and transfer techniques.
- Food Service: Prepare and serve meals according to dietary restrictions and preferences, ensuring all patients are well-nourished.
- Emotional Support: Offer companionship and emotional support to patients and their families, acting as a liaison between them and the medical team.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and logs regarding daily care activities and any changes in condition.
- Environment Maintenance: Keep patient rooms and common areas clean, safe, and organized to ensure a therapeutic environment.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
- Experience: No prior experience required. Must be willing to complete CNA training or state certification if not already held.
- Age Requirement: Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, lift patients (up to 50 lbs), and perform physical tasks.
- Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred; willing to obtain if not current.
- Character: Strong ethical standards, patience, empathy, and a team-oriented mindset.
