Responsibilities
- Direct Patient Care: Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting with dignity and respect.
- Vital Signs Monitoring: Accurately measure and record patient vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates.
- Hygiene & Comfort: Ensure patient rooms are clean, organized, and sanitized to prevent infection and promote a healing environment.
- Communication: Effectively communicate patient changes and needs to the nursing staff and physicians, maintaining accurate medical records.
- Emotional Support: Provide compassionate companionship and emotional support to patients and their families during their stay.
- Assistance with Procedures: Support medical staff during procedures and treatments as directed.
Qualifications
- CNA Certification: Current, active state Certified Nursing Assistant license (Texas Health & Human Services).
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
- CPR Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification is required.
- Experience: Prior experience in a hospital or long-term care setting preferred but not mandatory for the right candidate.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods and lift patients (up to 25 lbs) as needed.
- Soft Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, empathy, and a positive attitude.
