Responsibilities
- Provide Direct Patient Care: Assist patients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding.
- Vital Signs Monitoring: Accurately measure and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates.
- Hygiene and Comfort: Ensure patients maintain high standards of hygiene and comfort throughout their stay.
- Communication: Communicate patient status and concerns to the Registered Nurse (RN) and interdisciplinary team promptly.
- Assistance with Mobility: Help patients move safely from beds to wheelchairs or assist with ambulation as needed.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in accordance with hospital policies.
- Emergency Response: Respond quickly to patient emergencies and assist in implementing emergency protocols.
Qualifications
- Current CNA Certification: State-approved Certified Nursing Assistant license required.
- BLS Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is mandatory.
- Experience: Previous experience in a hospital or long-term care setting is preferred.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, and lift patients for extended periods.
- Compassion: Genuine empathy and a patient-centered approach to care.
- Reliability: Dependable attendance and punctuality.
