Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including assistance with bathing, dressing, and personal hygiene.
- Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse, accurately and in a timely manner.
- Assist patients with mobility, transfers, and positioning to prevent falls and ensure safety.
- Communicate changes in a patient's condition or behavior to the nursing staff and charge nurse immediately.
- Prepare patients for medical examinations, treatments, and procedures.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly patient environment.
- Document daily care activities and patient interactions in electronic medical records.
Qualifications
- Current, unencumbered Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in the state of Virginia.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained prior to start date.
- Previous experience in a hospital, assisted living, or home health setting is preferred but not always required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with patients and families.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs safely.
- Compassionate demeanor with a focus on patient-centered care.
