Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care: Assist patients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, and grooming, ensuring their comfort and dignity.
- Vital signs monitoring: Accurately measure and record patient temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rates.
- Assistance with mobility: Help patients transfer and move safely using proper body mechanics and assistive devices.
- Communication: Maintain clear and professional communication with patients, families, and the nursing staff to report changes in patient condition.
- Hygiene and safety: Ensure a clean, safe, and organized environment for patients, adhering to strict sanitation protocols.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of patient care and treatment plans as directed by registered nurses.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current, valid state certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA).
- Licensure: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a hospital or long-term care setting is highly desirable.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to demonstrate empathy and patience in high-pressure situations.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs), and perform physical tasks required for patient care.
- Availability: Flexibility to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
