Responsibilities
- Provide Direct Patient Care: Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Vital Signs Monitoring: Accurately measure and record patient temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure as directed by nursing staff.
- Safety & Comfort: Maintain a clean, safe, and therapeutic environment for patients; reposition immobile patients to prevent pressure ulcers.
- Communication: Effectively communicate patient changes and needs to Registered Nurses (RNs) and Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs).
- Record Keeping: Document patient care activities and observations accurately in electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Meal Assistance: Aid patients with feeding and ensure proper nutrition and hydration.
Qualifications
- Active CNA Certification: Current, unencumbered Certified Nursing Assistant license issued by the State of California.
- Basic Life Support (BLS):> Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association is required.
- High School Diploma: High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- CPR Certification: Valid CPR certification for healthcare providers.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and perform physical duties required in patient care.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong empathy, patience, and excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients and families.
