Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including bathing, dressing, and grooming under the supervision of nursing staff.
- Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse, reporting any abnormalities to the charge nurse.
- Assist patients with mobility, including transferring them from beds to chairs or wheelchairs and providing ambulation assistance.
- Prepare and serve meals according to patient dietary needs and preferences, ensuring proper nutrition.
- Observe and report changes in a patient's physical or mental condition to the RN or LPN.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment to prevent infections and ensure comfort.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Completion of a state-approved Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) training program (or willingness to enroll in training programs provided by the facility).
- CNA certification state license (or eligibility for licensure) is preferred but not mandatory for this entry-level role.
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate, patient-centered attitude.
- Ability to stand, walk, and lift patients for extended periods as required by the job.
- Basic computer skills and ability to complete electronic health records.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required.
