Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Provide direct patient care including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting assistance.
- Vital Signs: Monitor and accurately record patient vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates.
- Communication: Effectively communicate patient conditions, concerns, and changes to the registered nurse and interdisciplinary team.
- Assistance: Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) to ensure patient safety and comfort.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation as required by facility policy.
- Environment: Maintain a clean, safe, and therapeutic environment for patients and staff.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Current, unencumbered Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in the state of Kansas.
- Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
- Experience: Prior experience in a long-term care or acute care setting is preferred.
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient advocacy.
- Attributes: Compassionate, patient, and able to work well under pressure.
