Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Monitor and record patient vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates, reporting any abnormalities to the nursing staff.
- Assist with range-of-motion exercises and mobility assistance as prescribed by the Charge Nurse or Physical Therapist.
- Prepare and serve meals according to dietary restrictions and assist patients with eating when necessary.
- Document patient care activities accurately and in a timely manner in electronic medical records (EMR).
- Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for patients and staff.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members regarding patient status and care plans.
Qualifications
- Current and valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in the State of Texas.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS preferred but not mandatory.
- Previous experience in a hospital, long-term care facility, or home health setting is highly preferred.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to demonstrate compassion and empathy.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs when necessary.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow medical protocols and safety regulations.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
