Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Provide direct patient care, including assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility.
- Vital Signs: Monitor and record patient vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates.
- Documentation: Accurately document patient information, symptoms, and care provided in electronic health records (EHR).
- Hygiene & Safety: Ensure patient rooms are clean, sanitized, and safe; assist with patient transfers using proper techniques.
- Communication: Communicate changes in patient condition to registered nurses and physicians promptly.
- Meal Service: Assist patients with feeding and ensure they remain well-hydrated throughout their shift.
- Emergency Response: Respond to call lights and assist in emergency situations following hospital protocols.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
- Licensure: Current and valid Florida CNA license required.
- Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a hospital or long-term care setting preferred.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of medical terminology and infection control procedures.
- Physical Demands: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform physical assistance to patients.
- Soft Skills: Excellent interpersonal communication skills and a genuine desire to help others.
