Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and grooming in a respectful and professional manner.
- Monitor and record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates, reporting any abnormalities immediately to the nursing staff.
- Assist registered nurses and physicians with medical procedures, wound care, and patient preparation for examinations or treatments.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for patients and staff, adhering to strict infection control protocols.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the broader healthcare team to ensure seamless continuity of care.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by licensed healthcare professionals under supervision.
- Respond promptly to patient calls and provide emotional support and reassurance to those in distress.
Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license required by the state of Maryland (MD).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Previous experience in a hospital or clinical setting is highly preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with diverse patient populations.
- Ability to stand, walk, and lift patients as needed, demonstrating excellent physical stamina.
- Demonstrated compassion, patience, and a genuine passion for patient-centered care.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
