Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care and assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Monitor and record patient vital signs, including temperature, pulse, respiration rates, and blood pressure.
- Assist nurses and physicians with medical procedures, examinations, and treatments.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary patient environment in accordance with hospital protocols.
- Administer medication as directed by the registered nurse (RN) or licensed practical nurse (LPN).
- Document patient progress, dietary intake, and changes in condition accurately and timely.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team to ensure holistic care.
Qualifications
- Current and active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in the State of Massachusetts.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications required.
- Previous experience in a hospital or acute care setting preferred but not required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on patient advocacy.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs safely.
- CPR certification valid for at least one year.
