Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive patient assessment and care planning for assigned night shift patients
- Administer medications and treatments accurately with proper documentation
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care
- Respond promptly to emergency situations and critical patient events
- Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA and hospital protocols
- Supervise LPNs and CNAs, ensuring quality care standards
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and patient safety programs
Qualifications
- Active Virginia RN license (required)
- BSN degree preferred; ADN candidates with 2+ years experience considered
- Minimum 1 year acute care experience (night shift preferred)
- BLS and ACLS certifications (required)
- Strong critical thinking and emergency response skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Ability to work independently during night shift hours
- Flexibility to adapt to changing patient acuity and census
