Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care and assistance with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming).
  • Monitor and record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature.
  • Report any changes in patient condition or behavior to the Registered Nurse or Charge Nurse immediately.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitized patient environment in accordance with hospital protocols.
  • Assist patients with mobility, transfers, and walking using proper body mechanics and equipment.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
  • Administer medications and treatments as directed by licensed nursing staff.

Qualifications

  • Current and valid California CNA license required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Previous experience in a hospital or long-term care setting preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs frequently throughout the shift.
  • CPR certification is highly desirable.
  • Strong attention to detail and compassion for the elderly or sick.
