Responsibilities
- Provide Direct Patient Care: Assist residents/patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting with dignity and respect.
- Vital Signs Monitoring: Accurately measure and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates.
- Assistance with Mobility: Safely assist patients with ambulation using walkers, canes, or wheelchairs as needed.
- Meal Assistance: Aid patients during meal times, ensuring they are fed properly and hydrating adequately.
- Observation and Reporting: Monitor patients for changes in physical or mental condition and report any concerns immediately to the nursing staff.
- Housekeeping Duties: Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients by changing linens and keeping living areas tidy.
Qualifications
- Certification: Must hold a valid and current Indiana CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) license.
- BLS Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Experience: Minimum of 6 months of experience in a long-term care or hospital setting preferred.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Compassion: Demonstrated ability to interact with the elderly and those with special needs with patience and empathy.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
