Position Overview:
As a Weekend CNA, you will be the heart of our patient care team. You will assist residents/patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), provide emotional support, and ensure a safe, comfortable environment during your shifts. Your dedication will ensure our patients receive the highest quality of care, even when our facility is busiest.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting assistance.
- Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature accurately.
- Assist patients with mobility issues, including transferring and walking safely.
- Communicate changes in patient condition or behavior to the Registered Nurse (RN) or Charge Nurse immediately.
- Administer medication and treatments as directed by the healthcare team and licensed nurses.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for all patients and visitors.
- Document all care provided and patient interactions in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
Qualifications
- Current, unencumbered Louisiana CNA License required.
- CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (American Heart Association or Red Cross).
- Previous experience in a long-term care, nursing home, or hospital setting preferred.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and assist patients with mobility.
- Compassionate demeanor with a genuine desire to help others.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
